Mihai Tarus
Born:
December 10, 1948 in Sinesti, Ungheni district, Moldavia.
Studies:
1964 "A.V. Sciusev" School of Arts for Children, Chisinau
1968 "Al.Plamadeala" Republican College for Arts, Chisinau
1969 Together with artist Mihai Grecu is engaged in long series of intellectual dialogues regarding the sources, the essence, the functions and the destiny of art. The activity had a positive influence on young artist's vocation.
1971 Gets in touch with Kazimir Malevich's disciple, Vladimir Sterligov, well known as the leader of the "Sankt Petesburg school", who was promoting a personal creative system under the name of "cup-dome". Once Mihai Tarus is accepted in Sterligov's studio as a disciple, the efforts of the earlier are directed to the concept that the plastic principles are the premisses of the creative process.
1974 - 1985
Member of the "Sterligov Group", creatively perseveres and exhibits his works in the studio of Tatiana Glebov, disciple of Filonov.
1975
Graduates the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Russia.
Participates in the second "Official Exhibition of Unofficial Plastic Artists" which took place in a suburban Palace of Culture of St Petersburg.
